Obama — The Man for the Job

Barack Obama is the man for the job, according to Bill Clinton.  Clinton — finally — got fully behind Obama in his convention speech last night.  “Everything I learned in my eight years as president and in the work I have done since, in America and across the globe, has convinced me that Barack Obama is the man for this job,” Clinton said in his speech.

This was after Hillary’s speech on Tuesday night in which she said, “I am here tonight as a proud mother, a proud Democrat, a proud senator from New York, a proud American – and a proud supporter of Barack Obama!”  Her passion came through in that speech — a passionate support for Obama’s candidacy.  “Whether you voted for me or you voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose,” she said. “We are on the same team and none of us can sit on the sidelines … this is a fight for the future.  And it’s a fight we must win.  No way. No how. No McCain,” she said.

Neither Clinton left room for anything other than party unity.  I fully support their calls for party unity and I sincerely hope that those last holdouts for Hillary come to support Obama as well.

This election is too important to allow John McCain to win.  There is too much healing that needs to take place after eight years of George W Bush.  There is too much damage that needs to be undone.  John McCain represents a continuation of George W Bush’s failed policies and failed neo-conservative ideology.  Obama isn’t perfect, by any stretch, but he is miles better than McCain and light years better than Bush.  New ideas are needed, and America’s credibility needs to be restored.  McCain is not the man for the job.  Barack Obama is the man for the job.  It’s that simple.

I’m glad you’re back, Deanna. I missed your perspective this week.

Both Clinton’s were amazing. They left no doubt as to who they support.
I was addicted to CSPAN this week.

    Paulette,
I’m in South Florida and I’ll be volunteering once my schedule lightens up in the next month. We must turn Florida back to BLUE!
