New Prop 8 Poll
There’s a new Field Poll out this morning, measuring the support for Proposition 8 in California — the Anti Gay Marriage Constitutional Amendment. It’s good news — fifty-one percent of likely voters polled oppose the measure. For a measure to pass — usually — at this point those putting the measure on the ballot would want to see better than sixty percent support. Support tends to lessen as the campaign heats up.
I don’t know that the scenario I described above will happen this time. I think positions on same-sex marriage are pretty well defined at this point. I would hope, though, that as people learn more and see more married same-sex couples, that they would come to support same-sex marriage.
